Mushrooms

Although belonging to the fungi family, Mushrooms with their distinct flavour are seen very much as a versatile ‘vegetable’. Rich in vitamin B, with vitamin D, Riboflavin, niacin, selenium and potassium Mushrooms are particularly good for vegetarians!

We purchase our mushrooms loose or in paper bags, avoiding plastic containers or bags which cause them to sweat from their own heat, Buying them as close to cooking as possible to retain their flavour and freshness.

Mushrooms hold a large volume of water, at Simply Stock we prepare our mushrooms by wiping them with kitchen towel; this avoids increasing the water content in our products.
